Ashtanga Yoga

Did my first class in a month and a half. And oooh I feel it. Ashtanga yoga is not necessarily easy practice but you can cater it to be slightly easier for yourself which I think is a good thing. Sometimes you just don’t feel your best.

Today, for me was a “okey let’s get back into it” and I felt not only slightly weaker (which is understandable) but I also felt a small fire starting to kindle. I want to be stronger, I want to be able to go deeper into my practice. And when that feeling arrives I run with it mentally. So I’ve booked myself a yoga course with Yogashala here in Sthlm for Friday/Saturday/Sunday. To learn more about the positions and get them right. My teacher also invited me to Mysore classes, which is independent classes but in a group setting. So you would do your series independently. Which tbh terrifies me slightly but I feel soon I need to be brave enough for this…

Ashtanga Yoga has been in my life on and off, I believe I had my very first class when I was 17-19, I can’t remember really. It was an easy class in comparison to what I do today. And then I did a class or two when I lived in London for a year and from there, it’s been on and off. Since about a year ago I’ve had better consistency with it, I remember my first class with my current teacher and… I wasn’t really in shape and held a lot of old merits in my head, now I can however say that I’m better than my old merits both in knowledge and in strength.
